Install Your Player
Now let's download and install the IPTV player app you chose in Step 1. This is like installing any other app on your device - it's simple and straightforward!
METHOD A - FROM APP STORE (EASIEST)
- 1Grab your FireStick remote and press the Home button
- 2Navigate to the search icon (magnifying glass) at the top
- 3Type the name of your chosen player: ā "UnlockPros Box" or ā "XCIPTV" or ā "IBO Player Pro"
- 1Select the official app from the search results ā ā ļø Make sure it's the official version - check the developer name
- 1Click 'Download' or 'Get' ā The download usually takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes ā You'll see a progress bar
- 1Once installed, click 'Open' to launch the app ā Or find it later in 'Your Apps & Channels'
METHOD B - SIDELOADING (FOR ADVANCED USERS)
Sometimes an app isn't in the official store. Here's how to install it manually:
- 1First, install the 'Downloader' app ā Search for "Downloader" in Amazon App Store ā Install it (this is an official app, totally safe)
- 1Enable installation from unknown sources: ā Press Home ā Settings ā Go to: My Fire TV ā Developer Options ā Turn ON 'Apps from Unknown Sources' ā Click 'Turn On' when the warning appears (this is safe when you trust the source)
- 1Open the Downloader app you just installed
- 1Enter the APK download link ā Your support team will provide this URL ā Type it carefully or use the voice input ā Example: http://example.com/app.apk
- 1Click 'Go' and wait for download ā Takes 1-3 minutes depending on file size
- 1Click 'Install' when prompted
- 1Click 'Open' to launch, or 'Done' to finish
TIPS:
- Always download APKs from trusted sources (your provider or official websites)
- If you're not comfortable with sideloading, stick with Method A (App Store)
- You only need to enable 'Unknown Sources' once - it stays enabled
NEXT STEP: After your app is installed and open, move to Step 3 to add your service!
Add Your Service
Great! Your player is installed. Now it's time to connect it to your service. Think of this step as 'logging in' to your TV subscription - just like logging into Netflix or Hulu, but with your credentials.
You should have received an email or message from us with your login details. Have that ready!
OPTION A - XTREAM CODES API (RECOMMENDED - FASTEST & MOST RELIABLE)
This method works with most IPTV players and gives you the best experience with faster loading and better TV guide information.
- 1Open your player app ā You should see a welcome screen or empty channel list
- 1Look for the 'Add' button ā Usually labeled: 'Add New', 'Add Playlist', or a '+' icon ā Often in the top-right corner or main menu
- 1Select 'Xtream Codes API' or 'Login with Xtream' ā Some apps call it 'Xtream Login' or 'API Login' ā Choose this option, NOT M3U (unless you only have M3U)
- 1Now carefully enter your credentials:
š SERVER URL (or Host):
- This is provided in your welcome email
- MUST start with http:// or https://
- Example: http://yourserver.com:80
- Some servers need :80 at the end, some don't
- Copy it EXACTLY as provided
ļæ½ USERNAME
- Case-sensitive! (ABC is different from abc)
- No spaces before or after
- Type it manually - don't copy/paste (can add hidden spaces)
ļæ½ PASSWORD
- Also case-sensitive!
- Type carefully, double-check each character
- Again, manual typing is safer than copy/paste
š NAME (or Playlist Name):
- You can name this whatever you want
- Examples: 'My TV', 'Live TV', 'Home Channels'
- This is just for your reference
- 1Click 'Add', 'Connect', or 'Login' ā The app will now connect to the server ā You'll see a loading screen
- 1Wait patiently for 1-3 minutes ā The app is downloading your channel list ā First-time setup takes a bit longer ā Don't close the app while it's loading!
- 1Success! You should now see: ā ā Live TV channels organized by category (Sports, Movies, News, etc.) ā ā VOD (Movies & TV Shows on demand) ā ā Series (Binge-watchable TV series)
OPTION B - M3U PLAYLIST URL (ALTERNATIVE METHOD)
Some providers give you a direct playlist link instead of username/password. Here's how to use it:
- 1In your player, select 'Add M3U URL' or 'M3U Playlist'
- 1Paste your M3U URL carefully ā This is a long URL that ends with .m3u or contains m3u_plus ā Example: http://server.com/get.php?username=abc&password=123&type=m3u ā Make sure there are NO spaces at the beginning or end
- 1Give it a name: 'My TV' (or whatever you prefer)
- 1Click 'Add'
- 1Wait 2-4 minutes for channels to load ā M3U can take slightly longer than Xtream Codes
COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID:
- āCopying/pasting credentials (can include hidden characters)
- āForgetting http:// at the start of the server URL
- āAdding spaces before or after username/password
- āMixing up uppercase and lowercase letters
- āClosing the app while it's loading channels
If login fails, 99% of the time it's a typo in the credentials. Double-check each character carefully and try again. If you're absolutely sure you entered everything correctly, contact our support team.
NEXT STEP: Once your channels load successfully, move to Step 4 to set up the TV guide!
Set Up Your TV Guide (EPG)
Excellent! Your channels are loaded. Now let's set up the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) - this is your TV guide that shows you what's playing now and what's coming up next, just like a traditional cable TV guide.
WHAT IS EPG?
The EPG shows you:
- What show or movie is currently playing on each channel
- What's coming up next (schedule for the next few days)
- Show descriptions and episode information
- Start and end times for each program
Think of it as your channel listings - without it, you'd just see channel names with no info about what's on!
HOW TO ENABLE/REFRESH YOUR EPG
- 1Open your player app ā Make sure you're logged in and can see channels
- 1Navigate to Settings ā Usually a gear icon āļø or hamburger menu ā° ā Look in the top corner or main menu
- 1Find the 'EPG' or 'TV Guide' section ā Might also be called: ā 'Electronic Program Guide' ā 'Program Guide' ā 'EPG Settings' ā 'Channel Guide'
- 1Click 'Refresh EPG' or 'Update EPG' ā Some apps say 'Download EPG' or 'Update Guide' ā Click it and wait
- 1Be patient! Initial EPG download takes time: ā Usually 3-5 minutes for first download ā Can take up to 10-15 minutes on some devices ā You'll see a progress bar or loading indicator ā DON'T close the app while it's downloading!
- 1Once complete, you should see program information: ā Open any channel ā Press the 'Info' or 'Guide' button on your remote ā You should now see what's currently playing and upcoming shows
GOOD NEWS - EPG AUTO-UPDATES
- Once set up, EPG refreshes automatically every 24 hours
- You don't need to manually update it again
- It runs in the background while you watch
IMPORTANT EPG TIPS
CHECK YOUR DEVICE TIME
- Settings ā Date & Time ā Set to 'Automatic'
- If your device time is wrong, the EPG will show wrong times
- Make sure timezone is set correctly for your location
š XTREAM CODES VS M3U:
- Xtream Codes (Option A in Step 3) = Better, more detailed EPG
- M3U Playlist (Option B in Step 3) = Basic EPG or sometimes no EPG
- If you used Xtream Codes, your EPG will be more accurate and detailed
š§ IF EPG ISN'T SHOWING:
- Wait the full 10-15 minutes on first load
- Make sure your internet connection is stable
- Try manually refreshing again: Settings ā EPG ā Refresh
- Restart your device and try refreshing once more
- Check that date/time settings are automatic
EPG DATA COVERAGE:
- Most services provide 3-7 days of program data
- You can scroll forward to see upcoming shows
- Some channels may not have EPG data - this is normal
- Major channels (sports, movies, news) almost always have full EPG
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Problem: EPG shows but times are wrong ā Solution: Fix your device's date/time settings
Problem: EPG not loading at all ā Solution: Clear app cache (Settings ā Apps ā Your Player ā Clear Cache) and refresh EPG again
Problem: Some channels have EPG, others don't ā Solution: This is normal - not all channels provide guide data
CONGRATULATIONS! š
